The fragrance is an intense and daring fruity chypre, composed of sophisticated floral notes: tuberose, violet and hibiscus, – with a splash of coconut water, – over the light and smooth base, the combination of the final notes evokes the impression of warm skin. The perfume was created by Caroline Sabas and Marypierre Julien of Givaudan.

Kim Kardashian Perfume For Women by Kim Kardashian

 |  ,  |

Pop culture icon Kim Kardashian represents the modern girl who does it all. With a top-rated television show, a successful online shoe company, and even a fitness DVD, she’s proven to be a media darling with a purpose. The trendsetting style expert is also dedicated to charitable causes close to her heart, and equally devoted to her friends, family, and fans. Adding to her accomplished portfolio, Kim now has a new trademark scent filled with voluptuous floral notes that capture the many facets of her personality: captivating, undeniably feminine, and sensual.

Some would argue that everything that Kim Kardashian touches turns to gold. So it is fitting that she has named her new fragrance Gold and celebrated the launch of the perfume in Las Vegas last night. The 30-year-old looked stunning as she strutted the red carpet at the promotional event in a white, gold and black dress. She accessorised with towering black heels and held her new perfume aloft for all to see. Kardashian was at Macy’s Fashion Show store in Nevada to celebrate her second fragrance. She had released her first perfume last year called, aptly, Kim Kardashian. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star explained the name of her perfume.

‘Gold is a luxury that stands the test of time, a universal symbol of sophistication and glamour.

‘Like a stunning piece of precious jewellery, Gold lends everyday style a surge of seductive sparkle and timeless beauty’, Kim added.

She later tweeted about her Sin City event: ‘So many sweet & thoughtful people came out to support my new Kim Kardashian Gold fragrance! I love u Vegas… now heading back to LA!’ Aside from her fragrances, Kim is also a spokesperson for various things including Sketchers trainers and weight loss supplements. The television personality also has her own clothing stores with her sisters, production company, books, jewellery line and reality shows.

Kim’s mother Kris Jenner is at the helm of the Kardashian empire as the girls’ manager and raked in $64million last year from all of their activities. She has recently returned from Mexico, where she enjoyed a family vacation to mark her sister Kourtney’s 32nd birthday.

Kim tweeted: ‘So happy to be home from a fun long family vacation! Its been a while since the whole family got together like that! We need to do that more.’

But her sister Khloe was quick to correct: ‘the whole family but Lamar and I silly….’

But one person who was on the break was Kim’s new boyfriend Kris Humphries. The 6ft 9in athlete put on a playful display of affection with Kim as they cavorted in the sea in Puerto Mita, Mexico. As well as exchanging countless kisses, he even gave the pint-sized star a ride on his shoulders. He could barely keep his hands off her body – and few could blame him.  The star looked in incredible shape as she paraded around the beach in an array of bikinis during the six-day break.

‘Kim was so excited to get some alone time with Kris,’ a source told America’s Us Weekly. ‘They were making out most of the time.’

A new season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians will premiere on E! later this summer.

Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia

 |   |

The Bottom Line: What follows is what I like to think of as “A Tale of Two Acquas:” In 1995 I was 21 years old, finishing college, in love for the first time and totally smitten with a new fragrance from Armani that followed his moderately successful gardenia extravaganza, Gio. The green juice of this new Gio seemed to be perfectly suited to the spirit of fragrance at that time (L’Eau d’Issey. The Vert, CK1) and though it was a woman’s fragrance, my boyfriend and I both agreed that it smelled delicious. Every time I passed an Armani perfume counter I would spritz a little on and revel in this new olfactory delight. At the time, there had been no men’s counterpart yet and who could know that once launched it would become one of the most successful men’s fragrances of the last 10 years or so? Strangely enough, I never actually owned a bottle of the Acqua di Gio for Women, likely because all of my friends quickly acquired bottles. And I must be the only person on the face of the earth who disliked Acqua di Gio for Men from the very start.

Back in 2008, I had heard rumors that a new Acqua di Gio would be launched in a new bottle. Not entirely surprising since Armani has done this a few times; I still have the original, Chaos-inspired Mania (for Women) and much prefer it to the newer launch. Actually, I have kind of lost track of Armani launches recently–there are so many flankers coming and going these days what with Emporio, Armani and Prive lines constantly moving forward–so I missed the initial launch of the new Acqua di Gioia and as it recently launched here in Finland, I’m only getting around to making its acquaintance now. Before I even get started on the scent, I have to ask: Why the same name avec “A”? Why wasn’t this launched as a new scent? Has the older fragrance been discontinued? And will there be a men’s launch as well? Questions abound!

Notes: Lemon blossom, mint, water jasmine, cedar, brown sugar, labdanum

The perfume was created by the famous Edmond Roudnitska in 1943. Marcel Rochas designed the flacon (inspired by beautiful American actress Mae West) in collaboration with Lalique.
